Calligraphy at the Harley Gallery

I received this info via the website

Hello,

I thought you may be interested in a live calligraphic performance we will be running at the Gallery in February. We are welcoming calligraphy artist Tim Donaldson to the Harley Gallery on Sunday 19 February to do a live performance, 12pm – 2pm. He is one of the artists whose work will be shown in the forthcoming Signs for Sounds exhibition which looks at the art of calligraphy ad letter-forming.

Please follow the link below for further information.

Looks interesting but a long way to go!

Beginners weekend calligraphy workshop with Robert Cooper

Robert Cooper is organizing another weekend workshop for his beginners group in Thorpe Thewles. This year it’s going to be on 21/22 April and will be led by Ian Ditchburn. This time the weekend will focus on offering a wide variety of materials and ways in which to use lettering, rather than on letterform itself. Ian is a very creative person and will work to his particular strengths in helping participants to grow in confidence in their own creativity.

Not all places have been taken up on the weekend and additional participants will be very welcome to help the finances. The cost is likely to be £50 per person, but less if we achieve full numbers, because this is not a profit-making venture. Packed lunches will be needed, but coffee and tea will be provided.

Please note that this is aimed at beginners and not at more experienced calligraphers.

Anyone interested can contact Robert directly at robert@cooperphoto.co.uk or on 01740 630015.
